ACPD Becomes Members of NCMEC's Missing Kids Readiness Program
Posted October 05, 2022All members of both the Atlantic City Police Department and Communications Bureau have completed the necessary training to become members of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s Missing Kids Readiness Program.
Atlantic City is now the first city in New Jersey with dual recognition from the NCMEC.
“I am very proud of our organization becoming members of this great program developed by NCMEC,” said Chief James A. Sarkos. “Our goal is to arm our police officers and public safety telecommunicators with the knowledge and resources to handle any situation. The report of a missing or abused child is of the upmost importance to our agency. This training ensures we are following best practices in responding to these types of incidents.”
The program promotes promote best practices for responding to calls of missing, abducted, and sexually exploited children.
