On Friday May 23rd, Atlantic City’s Resorts Hotel Casino will officially welcome summer with the annual Kick-Off Celebration and Opening of the Sea ceremony at 1:00 PM on the Boardwalk outside the building (1133 Boardwalk) followed by the annual Beach Ball Drop at the same location 5:00 PM. As part of Opening of the Sea, Mayor Small and public safety leaders will welcome our visitors for the season, before Mayor Small “unlocks” the ocean, and places a Memorial Day wreath in the ocean with help from the Atlantic City Beach Patrol.

 

There will be two Memorial Day Observances in Atlantic City during the holiday weekend:

 

Saturday, May 24th at 10:00 AM – Saracini-O’Neill Memorial Day Ceremony

 

Monday, May 26th at 12:00 PM – Memorial Day Observance at All Wars Memorial Building

 

The Atlantic City Beach Patrol will begin guarding some beaches for the 2025 summer season on Saturday, May 24th. City Hall and all City of Atlantic City government buildings will be closed on Monday, May 26th.
