Dr. Kifle M. Mihrete
Health Officer
Dr. Kifle Mihrete is a Public Health Professional and an Administrative Officer for the City of Atlantic City Health Department. Dr. Kifle is responsible for evaluating health problems, planning appropriate activities to address these health problems, developing necessary budget procedures to finance these activities, and directing staff to carry out these activities efficiently and economically
Dr. Kifle specializes in Public Health Epidemiology, and uses his experiences to direct or control prevention programs in specialized areas such as biostatistics, acute, chronic, infectious disease epidemiology, and environmental health. As a Licensed Public Health Officer, he believes in the values of public health practice such as equity, social justice, participation, efficiency, effectiveness affordability and accessibility. As an Epidemiologist he is focusing on distribution and determinants of disease within groups of people and the development of knowledge on how to prevent and control them.
Dr. Kifle has more than 18+ years of public health experience with core competencies such as policy development, program planning, communication, health equity, and community partnership skills. With a strong work ethics, he is truly enjoying the work he does and contributes to the successes of the health department in which he works.
Dr. Kifle lives in New Jersey with his wife and two children. When he is not at the office, he is an avid supporter of the Giants and loves spending time with his children, playing football, soccer, and learning new computer technology applictions. He is also an active member NJ Medical Reserve Corps and Jersey Shore Baptist Church.
