The Personnel Section conducts background investigations of prospective police candidates during Police hiring cycles and civilian applicants as requested from the City of Atlantic City Human Resource Office. Phone: 609-347-6426

Training & updates for sworn police personnel according to federal, state & municipal training mandates. Bi-annual certifications. Safety & proficiency. Recruit training, instructor certifications.

Intake, maintenance and distribution of all police department records, processing, data entry and tracking the NJ Uniform Crime Reporting statistical data. 'Records' is where people can obtain police reports and related paperwork. Responsible for administering OPRA requests. Records can be obtained Mon thru Fri between 8:00am and 3:30pm. There is a fee for all reports. Proper ID is required.

Serves as a liaison to outside employers who wish to employ police officers for extra duties such as traffic control at construction sites and road improvement projects. Officers are also hired to provide a public safety presence at numerous special public events, concerts, and conventions. Phone: 609-347-5474
