ACPD Installs U.S. Flag Retirement Drop Box

Posted May 16, 2023
The Atlantic City Police Department has installed a U.S. Flag Retirement Drop Box in the lobby of the Clayton G. Graham Public Safety Building, located at 2715 Atlantic Avenue, for individuals who need to dispose of an old flag. Do not throw away worn out, torn and tattered flags. Instead, drop them off in the secure drop box, and police will make sure all flags collected are properly disposed.

The Atlantic City Police Foundation purchased the flag box.

Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Sr. and ACPD Chief James Sarkos held a dedication ceremony for the newly installed box last week, in partnership with Patricia Tatum the American Legion.

The ACPD and American Legion are also working together for the inaugural Flag Disposal Ceremony that will happen on June 14, 2023 (Flag Day) at Bader Field.
