Effective Monday, January 9, 2023 at 9 a.m., All Wars Memorial Building, also known as Soldier’s home, will reopen to the public.

 

On August 14, 2022, in the interest of health and public safety, the city had to temporarily shut down Soldier’s Home to repair the air conditioning system. Before that work could be done, other long-standing issues such as roof replacement and interior repairs needed to be fixed.

 

“Credit the hard work of our contractors and Public Works Department for allowing us to reopen Soldier’s Home,” said Mayor Marty Small, Sr. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone, but we are just glad the issues are resolved and residents can once again begin utilizing this facility.”
