Traffic Advisory for September 10, 2022
Posted September 01, 2022On Saturday, September, 10, 2022, the Ironman 70.3 Atlantic City will be held in Atlantic City and throughout parts of Atlantic County. The triathlon has three parts that include swimming, biking, and running. The swim will take place in the bay off of Bader Field. The biking will take place throughout Atlantic County. The run will be along the Boardwalk in Atlantic City and Ventnor City.
Roadways throughout the biking and running courses will be heavily impacted. In Atlantic City, motorists traveling on and crossing over Albany Avenue will experience heavy delays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. In addition, heavy foot traffic is expected on the Boardwalk between 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
The Atlantic City Police Department will have officers assisting with traffic along the route in Atlantic City.
Other areas that will experience traffic delays.
Atlantic City Expressway exits #1 (Atlantic City Connector), #2, #3, #4, and #5 will be CLOSED from 3:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
Ventnor / Margate / Longport / Brigantine- Entering from US Route 322 plan to use West End Avenue or the toll road into Margate to avoid Albany Avenue. The Brigantine tunnel will be closed.
Pleasantville and Egg Harbor Township- Expect traffic delays and detours along Delilah Road, Westcoat Road, Atlantic 651, and New Road from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Follow detour signs.
Absecon- Expect traffic delays and detours along Mill Road, Fire Road, Westcoat Road, and Ohio Road from 6:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
