Nor’easter Update
Posted September 25, 2026Atlantic City is preparing for severe weather associated with the approaching Nor’easter, including strong winds, heavy rain, coastal flooding, dangerous surf, and hazardous travel conditions. The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Warning and High Wind Warning for the area.
At this time, there are no plans for an evacuation and no temporary shelter is scheduled to open. The City is monitoring conditions closely and will provide immediate updates to residents and visitors if the situation changes.
Residents and visitors should take precautions now:
- Avoid driving or walking through flooded streets.
- Move vehicles to higher ground before flooding begins; Atlantic City has made the Wave Garage available for vehicle relocation during the storm.
- Secure outdoor furniture, trash containers, and other loose items.
- Stay away from beaches, jetties, piers, and flood-prone areas.
- Monitor official City communications, local emergency alerts, and National Weather Service updates.
Conditions may worsen over multiple high-tide cycles through the weekend, so residents and visitors should remain prepared and follow instructions from public-safety officials.”
