Atlantic City Public Safety Celebrates 29 Promotions Across Police and Fire Departments
Posted July 17, 2026The Atlantic City Police Department and Atlantic City Fire Department celebrated 29 promotions during a joint ceremony held Thursday, July 16, 2026 at the All Wars Memorial Building. Mayor Marty Small Sr. administered the Oath of Office as family, friends, department members, and city officials gathered to recognize this achievement.
The Atlantic City Police Department promoted Alexus Zeilinger and Daniel Corcoran to Deputy Chief, Charles Stuart and Frank Timek to Captain; John Sharkey, Gary Holmes, Valmir Loga, Brian Shapiro, Owen Ingenito, Christopher LoDico, Joseph Rauch, and Robert Dessicino to Lieutenant; Michael Gunnser, Kevin Perez, Danish Mohammad, Mark Flanigan, Eric Oneill-Knuttel, James Eckert, Ivaylo Ivanov, and Wahab Malik to Sergeant; and Nicolas Calambas, Xavier Hernandez, and Shivanshu Khanna to Police Officer.
The Atlantic City Fire Department promoted Jeffrey Bird to Deputy Chief, Brian Adams and Sean Flynn to Battalion Chief, and Charles Reale, Jeffrey Schlundt, and Ronald Laielli to Fire Captain.
The ceremony included remarks from ACFD Chief Scott Evans, ACPD Chief James Sarkos, and Public Safety Director Sean Riggin, recognizing the dedication and commitment of the newly promoted members.
