Atlantic City Aquarium Adds New Environmental Learning Space

Posted June 15, 2026

Visitors to the Atlantic City Aquarium now have even more opportunities to learn about the natural world thanks to the opening of a newly expanded environmental education space.

The third-floor exhibit area is designed to educate visitors about environmental stewardship, conservation, and the importance of protecting local ecosystems. The new space was designed and developed by the Roadway Environmental Advancement Initiative (READI) team in collaboration with the South Jersey Transportation Authority (SJTA).

Guests exploring the new exhibit space can interact with displays focused on local ecosystems, native plant species, pollinator-friendly flowers, and bird and bat box programs. Through hands-on exhibits and educational materials, visitors can learn how these habitat features support wildlife populations and contribute to healthy, sustainable ecosystems throughout South Jersey.

The opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring remarks from Mayor Marty Small, Sr., and project representatives.
