2026 Atlantic City Guarded Beaches Start May 23

Posted May 19, 2026

Guarded beaches in Atlantic City for the 2026 summer season begin on Saturday, May 23rd. Swimming is at your own risk until then and residents and visitors are advised NOT to go into the water if a lifeguard is not on duty.

The following beaches will initially be guarded from 10 AM to 6 PM:

Caspian Avenue (weekends only), New Hampshire Avenue, Connecticut Avenue, States Avenue, Virginia Avenue, Pennsylvania Avenue (weekends only), North Carolina Avenue, South Carolina Avenue, Kentucky Avenue, MLK Blvd, Ohio Avenue, Michigan Avenue, Missouri Avenue, Mississippi Avenue, Texas Avenue, Iowa Avenue, Brighton Avenue, Morris Avenue, Albany Avenue, Dover Avenue, Bartram Avenue, and Montgomery Avenue.

More beaches will be open each weekend as we approach July.

Advisory signs were posted at several beaches earlier this week due to bacteria levels exceeding the recreational bathing standard, but the all clear has been given by the city’s Department of Environmental Health following additional testing.
