Atlantic City Fire Department Welcomes New Fire Ladder & Engine
Posted January 16, 2026The Atlantic City Fire Department introduced a new ladder and engine to its fleet, reinforcing the City of Atlantic City’s commitment to public safety. The ladder will serve the Ducktown, Chelsea Village, and Chelsea Heights neighborhoods, while the engine will cover the Boardwalk, piers, and beach areas.
Mayor Marty Small, Sr., ACFD Chief Scott Evans, department leadership, and firefighters participated in a traditional push-in ceremony at Fire Station 4, officially placing Ladder 2 and Engine 8 into service. Both apparatuses will be stationed and staffed at Fire Station 4 to support citywide emergency response.
Ladder 2 is a new 100’ Rosenbauer Tractor Drawn Aerial, replacing a 2008 ladder, and is fully equipped to handle incidents such as structure fires, vehicle accidents, water rescues, and elevator emergencies. Engine 8 is a specialized, lightweight apparatus that delivers full engine capabilities while being able to operate on the Boardwalk, where weight restrictions prevent traditional engines from responding.
