Mayor Small Sworn in for Next 4-Year Term Alongside Council-at-Large Members
Posted January 02, 2026Following his reelection in November, Mayor Marty Small, Sr. was sworn in on January 1 for his next four-year term as Mayor of Atlantic City. Surrounded by family members and a packed room of supporters at the All Wars Memorial Building, Mayor Small took the Oath of Office.
“We have a lot of challenges ahead,” Mayor Small said, addressing City Council directly. “We have neighboring towns trying to destroy our economy. We have some very important legislation. We need to be united. The city is 48 blocks with a billion-dollar budget—we have work to do.”
Also taking the Oath of Office were reelected Council-at-Large members Patricia Bailey and Stephanie Marshall, along with newly elected Council-at-Large member M. Suhel Ahmed. The terms of Mayor Small and the Council-at-Large members will run through December 31, 2029.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, City Council held its Reorganization Meeting, during which Council selected Aaron “Sporty” Randolph (First Ward) and Kaleem Shabazz (Third Ward) to once again serve as Council President and Council Vice President, respectively, for 2026.
