The City of Atlantic City and the Atlantic City Office of Emergency Management is fully prepared for a Nor’easter forecasted to impact the region throughout the holiday weekend.

The storm is expected to bring major coastal flooding, strong winds, and severe beach erosion to Atlantic City from Sunday morning through at least Tuesday morning. Residents in flood-prone areas are strongly advised to move their vehicles to higher ground. To assist with this, the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) has authorized free parking at the Wave Parking Garage, located at Mississippi and Fairmount Avenues, for both residents and visitors from 8:00 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2025 through 12:00 PM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. Motorists should also prepare for temporary closures or lane reductions on Route 30 and Route 40 due to flooding conditions, particularly during the Sunday and Monday afternoon high tides. If a road is flooded, never drive through water in the streets, turn around and use an alternate route, and never try to drive around police barricades that are in place. After Saturday night, travel should be for emergencies only. Residents and businesses are asked to move any outdoor items – including Halloween decorations - that can become projectiles indoors immediately.

In the event evacuations are ordered, shelter will be available at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Atlantic City Police Department high water vehicles are serviced and ready to go if needed to allow officers to get to all areas of the city, including areas that are flooded. The ACPD Community Unity Walk scheduled for Monday for National Faith & Blue Weekend has been cancelled due to weather. Ahead of any potential flooding, the Atlantic City Department of Public Works is removing trash cans from the beach and removing debris from the streets that could possibly clog up drainage systems citywide. Trash collection is scheduled as normal for next week, however, if possible, residents are asked to hold onto trash early in the week for next collection, so it doesn’t blow away in the winds.
