Atlantic City is Creating an Environmental Commission!
Posted September 08, 2025The City is looking for residents who are environmental professionals or who are interested in environmental causes. These causes include, but are not limited to:
- Gardening, tree planting, pollination, green buildings, water conservation, flood prevention, climate change, urban heat island effect, trash/litter, parks, food security, biodiversity
- The commission would serve as a critical advisory board for the city’s leadership on environmental issues, advocating for sustainable policies and supporting local initiatives that enhance food security, community well-being, green spaces, and ecological resilience. Residents’ insights and experience would be invaluable in shaping a more sustainable future for our city.
Other important information:
- This is a volunteer position. Members shall serve without compensation
- Meetings will be held each month
- Each member has a term of (3) years; Alternate members will have a term of (2) years
