Atlantic City to Still Feel Effects of Hurricane Erin This Weekend

Posted August 22, 2025

While the worst impacts of Hurricane Erin in Atlantic City are over, dangerous surf conditions are still expected this weekend at the beach. As of Friday morning, bathing restrictions were moved to ankle deep, with boogie boards still prohibited. You can check on beach updates throughout the weekend here. The Atlantic City Beach Patrol warns beachgoers to always listen to the lifeguards and never swim when a lifeguard is not on duty. Guarded beach hours are 10 AM to 6 PM daily.

The City of Atlantic City thanks the tireless efforts of our first responders, public works crews, and emergency management teams, who all helped weather the storm on Thursday, especially as it related to flooding in the streets.
