Atlantic City Police Foundation Donates New Mat to PAL Wrestling Program

Posted June 24, 2025

The Atlantic City Police Foundation generously donated a brand new $15,000 wrestling mat -- with help from the Atlantic City Police Athletic League (PAL) -- to a relatively new initiative for Atlantic City youth wrestlers. According to PAL Executive Director Lt. Will Santiago, this program provides positive structure and athletic opportunities for our youth, as they develop and refine their wrestling skills. There are about 60 boys and girls in the program, which is run by PAL and coached by Marcus Holmes.

Atlantic City Police Department Chief James Sarkos, Lt. Santiago and Coach Holmes were recently joined by members of the Atlantic City Recreation division and participants in the program to assemble the mats – which has ACPD and PAL branding - then program participants practiced on the new mat for the first time!
