As per tradition, City of Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Sr. drove the oversized wooden key into the sand to officially kick off Memorial Day Weekend and the 2025 summer season.

 

“This summer is going to be one of the biggest summers we’ve had in a very, very, very long time,” he told the crowds outside Resorts Hotel Casino. “And it’s because of the spirit of cooperation between my administration and the casino industry. We are committed now more than ever to make Atlantic City the best place it can be.”

 

Also participating in the “Opening of the Sea” ceremony were Atlantic City Police Department Chief James Sarkos, Atlantic City Fire Department Chief and Office of emergency Management Coordinator Scott Evans, Atlantic City Beach Patrol Chief Steve Downey, Atlantic City Public Safety Director Sean Riggin and Resorts President and CEO Mark Giannantonio, who praised the Small administration and public safety for stepping things up.

 

“Come down to the Great City of Atlantic City, where you will see a clean city, a safe city and a fun city,” Mayor Small added.
