Air Quality Alert in Atlantic City
Posted April 23, 2025Stemming from massive wildfires in Ocean County, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) currently lists the Air Quality in Atlantic City as “unhealthy.”
Per the NJDEP, people with heart or lung disease, older adults, children and teens should take the steps below to reduce exposure:
- Avoid strenuous outdoor activities
- Keep outdoor activities short
- Consider moving physical activities indoors or rescheduling them
The NJDEP recommends everyone else choose less strenuous activities (like walking instead of running) so you don’t breathe as hard and shorten the amount of time you are active outdoors.
The Atlantic City Office of Emergency Management is closely monitoring the situation.
