Atlantic City Welcomes First Full-Time LGBTQ+ Bar in 20 Years

City of Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Sr. and Judah Dorrington, who is the liaison of the Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ+ Affairs, part of the city’s Multicultural Services division, were part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, January 24th, 2025 for the Byrdcage, a new LGBTQ+ owned and operated bar. This is Atlantic City’s first full-time LGBTQ+ friendly space since 2004.

“We’ve been supporting this community for years and will step it uo even more in 2025,” Mayor Small told the large crowd on hand for the opening. “We all live in this city and we want to see everyone thrive and win. We welcome everyone in Atlantic City.”

Byrdcage is located at 3426 Atlantic Avenue in the Chelsea neighborhood.
