Atlantic City Celebrates 100th Anniversary of All Wars Memorial Building
Posted January 02, 2025Atlantic City’s All Wars Memorial Building, also known as Soldier’s Home, was dedicated in August of 1925. This year, the City of Atlantic City commemorates All Wars Memorial Building for 100 years of outstanding service, commitment and dedication.
The yearlong celebration, coordinated by Atlantic City Council Vice President Kaleem Shabazz, with the support of City of Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Sr., includes an African-American history event on February 1st, a Memorial Day event and an event this spring highlighting veterans’ contributions to civic and community life in Atlantic City. More details will be shared on each event as we get closer, and other events will be announced throughout the year.
All Wars Memorial Building, located at 1510 Adriatic Avenue, has served as a beacon of resilience and unity for veterans of color during a time of segregation and beyond. To highlight their sacrifices and uplift their spirits, all veterans of color and their families are asked to send photos and/or share stories from Soldiers Hone over the years. They can be submitted to solidershome100@gmail.com. Further questions regarding the 100th anniversary can also be directed to that email.
