Atlantic City Residential Rental Property Owners Must Comply with State-Mandated Lead-Based Paint Inspections

Posted July 09, 2024
The State of New Jersey has enacted a statute which mandates all residential rental properties be inspected for lead-based paint to determine if the property is Lead-Free, Lead-Safe or needs to be remediated. Atlantic City Council recently enacted an ordinance in compliance with this mandate.

The City of Atlantic City Department of Licensing and Inspections sent a letter to residential rental property owners informing them of the requirements and exemptions regarding this ordinance. This ordinance ONLY applies to Atlantic City residential rental property owners. If you received this letter and ARE NOT a residential rental property owner PLEASE DISREGARD.

The State statute and City ordinance can be found below.
