Atlantic City Beach and Boardwalk Rules Strictly Enforced
Posted July 03, 2024The City of Atlantic City and the Atlantic City Police Department would like to remind the residents and visitors of the beach and boardwalk regulations, which are being strictly enforced this Summer by the ACPD:
- The Atlantic City beach is open between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM. It is unlawful for any person to enter, walk, loiter or lounge upon the beaches outside those dedicated hours. It is also unlawful for any person to enter, walk, loiter, lounge or sleep under the Boardwalk. Atlantic City Beach Patrol guarded hours are daily between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
- Bicycling on the boardwalk in the Summer is permitted during designated hours ONLY, which include 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM between Albany and Connecticut Avenues (through September 15th) and from Jackson to Albany Avenues during those same times on Saturdays and Sundays (through Labor Day). Twenty-four-hour riding is permitted from Connecticut Avenue to Gardner’s Basin.
- No motorized vehicles are permitted any time, including electric bicycles.
- Smoking of any kind (cigarettes, cigars, marijuana, vaping) is prohibited on the beach and boardwalk.
- No outside alcoholic beverages are allowed in the open container zone. A person who is at least 21 years of age may consume alcoholic beverages purchased from a licensed establishment, in or adjacent to the open container zone, as long as the beverage is in an open, plastic container which bears the name and/or logo of the seller.
- The juvenile curfew is between the hours of 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
In addition to these important reminders, the City of Atlantic City would also like to remind our residents and visitors that gatherings on the beach that include any of the following MUST go through our Special Events Office (609-347-5823) for approval: oversized equipment and tents, electric generators, grills and open flames.
