ACPD Officers Ride in National Police Week Police Unity Tour to DC
Posted May 17, 2024Each year, during National Police Week, thousands of officers from throughout the country ride their bicycles for hundreds of miles onto the streets of Washington D.C. The Atlantic City Police Department was well represented this year, as Jody Hersh, Michael Oldroyd, Matt Rogers, Lisa Kaplin-Caldwell, Michael Braxton, Eric Knuttel, and Tyler Daily joined the Police Unity Tour for the three-day ride.
The Atlantic City Police Department and City of Atlantic City would like to recognize everyone who journeyed to our nation’s capital, to honor all law enforcement officers that have died in the line of duty, as well as their families.
Jen Miller McMeekin, the wife of Atlantic City Patrolman Thomas J. McMeekin Jr., who died in the line of duty on March 4, 2005, had the honor of being asked to speak at a prayer vigil. Jen was joined by the Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and members of Congress.
