Mayor Small Surprises NAACP Atlantic City Branch Youth Council During MLK Ceremony
Posted January 17, 2024On Monday, January 15, 2024, following the MLK Walk from the MLK School Complex to the Civil Rights Garden, Mayor Small announced he has chosen the NAACP Atlantic City Branch Youth Council to receive a $10,000 donation from the New Jersey Community Capital, who donates to a local group each year in the name of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The MLK Walk is organized each year by Atlantic City Council Vice President Kaleem Shabazz and the Atlantic City NAACP Branch. City leaders and members of the community come together to honor the life and legacy of Dr, King. The walk concluded with a wreath laying ceremony at the Civil Rights Garden followed by a program at St James AME Church.
