Major Storm to Hit Atlantic City Tuesday Into Wednesday
Posted January 09, 2024The City of Atlantic City is bracing for a significant storm expected to hit the region Tuesday afternoon through early Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting wind gusts could reach up to 70mph Tuesday evening. A Coastal Flood Advisory has been issued by the NWS for Atlantic County. Minor to Moderate coastal flooding is now forecasted. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy declared a State of Emergency beginning at 5:00pm
The Atlantic City Office of Emergency Management is urging residents and businesses to secure any loose outdoor objects that can become a flying projectile, and to avoid traveling during the storm.
