The second cohort of the Atlantic City Infrastructure Program (ACIP) – a joint venture between the City of Atlantic City and Atlantic City Electric -- kicked off Wednesday, September 27th. This cohort includes 22 City residents who will gain utility training and work-ready skills to prepare them for promising careers in the energy field. The program welcomed its first cohort last year and celebrated 26 graduates who are working with Atlantic City Electric or one of the company’s contractors of choice.

 

“The first cohort of the Atlantic City Infrastructure program was a huge success, and we are looking forward to opening this life-changing program up to more residents,” said City of Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Sr. “My focus as Mayor since day one has been giving the people of the Great City of Atlantic City opportunities they may not otherwise have. We are excited to once again partner with Atlantic City Electric to give our residents the tools they need to jumpstart their careers and earn salaries they, at one time, may never have imagined they could earn.”

 

With a goal of providing every graduate a job opportunity with Atlantic City Electric or one of the company’s contractors of choice, the Atlantic City Infrastructure Program is a leading example of a corporate-community partnership that helps educate the state’s future energy workforce, resulting in positive impact on the livelihoods of individuals and families in Atlantic City while supporting the advancement of South Jersey’s economy.
